Dublin VAR cuts costs for global car leasing giant
Mobile cloud services will save global automotive fleet specialist thousands of euros a year
Dublin-based cloud services provider Zinopy is in the throes of a cost-slashing Citrix implementation for the world's largest car fleet management firm, LeasePlan.
According to a press statement from Citrix, the Platinum partner is delivering mobile cloud services to Dutch international LeasePlan Group around the world that will save its information services subsidiary €40,000 a year for each individual group company by reducing duplicate and unnecessary IT costs.
Ronan Murray, infrastructure manager at LeasePlan Information Services, said the organisation so far has 2,900 users running on Citrix with a further 1,200 users to be rolled out in 2013 and 2014. Its data is held centrally in Dublin, and delivered worldwide.
"Citrix technology combined with Zinopy's expertise has proven to be a great enabler for our global strategy; it has allowed us to consolidate data and applications from across the business into central datacentres and deliver it to almost 3,000 users as a service," he said.
"We now have an IT team of six supporting thousands of end users all over Europe. The deployment and management of applications is far easier. Our users can work whenever and however they like."
Employees will be able to work from anywhere, using any device. The private cloud service is based on Citrix XenApp, NetScaler, NetScaler Gateway and Receiver products, creating a centralised virtual desktop system. Manual software updates are no longer needed.
Zinopy is a three-year-old company headed by chief executive John Ryan, formerly of Entropy and Expert Edge. It specialises in secure virtualised offerings for the UK and Irish markets.
Other customers include Tullow Oil and Rockall Technologies.
