Fujitsu and Centerprise accomplish military mission

VAR wins two contracts involving supply of about 600 devices and storage and server kit from vendor partner Fujitsu

Fujitsu has held up two defence contracts won via reseller partner Centerprise International as evidence of its headway in the enterprise channel.

Rafi Razzak, chairman of Centerprise, a Fujitsu Select partner, said it had fought off strong bids from rival suppliers to land the deals, which both involved the provision of mission-critical hardware and client devices for formal defence training environments.

Taken together, the two projects encompass the supply of about 600 Fujitsu mobile and desktop devices, as well as the vendor's Primergy RX300 rack servers and Eternus DX90 storage systems.

Simon Worsfold, enterprise and channel sales director at Fujitsu, said the vendor had given Centerprise its full backing to land the business but stressed it now has sufficient resource to support all its partners targeting enterprise business.

The vendor claims to have doubled channel development headcount over the past 18 months.

"We have invested strongly in building a channel team and structure that partners can access and use effectively to support sales development," Worsfold said.

Razzak added: "These are significant wins for our business that underline our core strength in providing solutions that satisfy the needs of the public sector."
