Datel reaches for the Skyscanner
VAR wins deal to help online travel company scale its ERP system for growth
Sage partner Datel has snared a deal to help fast-growing online travel company Skyscanner fulfil its expansion plans by installing a scalable ERP system.
Skyscanner, which grew from four employees to more than 270 in under a decade, is looking to hire up to 250 more staff this year, and as a result needed a system capable of keeping up with growth and allow its staff to operate in multiple languages and currencies across the globe.
Datel implemented Sage ERP X3 after examining various other options including Oracle Financials and Sun Systems.
Colin McLellan, group financial controller at Skyscanner, said: "We certainly did our research in looking for a more powerful replacement system. One priority was to be able to produce reports without needing specialist IT skills, and we're confident that Sage ERP X3 will achieve this for us.
"We were also keen to avoid costly, complex bespoke work," he added.
Jo Fulton, sales and marketing director at Datel added: "Skyscanner's formula of a fast, flexible service for finding flights, hotels and car hire means the sky's the limit. They needed a robust solution with the flexibility and capacity to support the business as it grows. Sage ERP X3 was a perfect fit."
