e92plus to pick up the pieces after Dutch namesake collapses

Distributor to expand into the Netherlands after e92plus BV - which licensed its brand - goes under

Distributor e92plus is to set up shop in the Netherlands after a Dutch company that licensed its brand fell into receivership.

The UK VAD is gearing up to open a subsidiary in Utrecht after e92plus BV was placed into the hands of receivers last month and ceased trading, said e92plus managing director Mukesh Gupta.

Although e92plus BV was jointly run by Gupta's brother, Rakash, Gupta stressed e92plus had severed all ownership ties with the Dutch operation several years back.

Even so, Gupta said the UK firm would work with vendors to ensure the impact on local resellers is minimised.

"We want to protect our brand and the value we provide so we don't want to let anyone down," said Gupta. "Moving forward, we are planning to operate in the Netherlands ourselves.

"Having the direct operations ourselves gives us economies of scale as we have all the systems in place and can therefore deliver a better service to resellers that were previously using the brand."

Gupta said the move is being supported by e92plus UK's vendors, very few of which - if any - worked with e92plus BV.

The security VAD is also set to expand into Ireland in the coming weeks, meaning it will soon operate out of four locations including its two UK offices in Surbiton and Manchester.
