Brocade names Lipsin as channel sales boss

Former Arbor and CA man rocks up at networking vendor

Channel veteran Bill Lipsin (pictured) has popped up at Brocade to lead the firm's global channel.

The new role -- vice president of worldwide channel and global systems integrator sales - will see Lipsin tasked with managing sales and business development operations across Brocade's channel organisation, as well as leading strategic decision making at the company.

Lipsin takes over the role from Regan McGrath, who has become vice president of sales in the Americas region. McGrath's old role has been altered to include Brocade's systems integrator business too, which is the role Lipsin steps into.

"Lipsin will develop go-to-market strategies and, working with the company's global sales and marketing organisations, define and accelerate channel recruitment and sales programmes," Brocade said in a statement. "One of his key initiatives will be to enable partners and global systems integrators to lever key industry trends such as datacentre virtualisation, cloud computing and software-defined networking."

The new recruit joins from Arbor Networks where he led the firm's channel organisation, following on from a stint in a similar role at CA Technologies.

He will report to Jeff Lindholm, Brocade's senior vice president of worldwide sales.

"Bill's track record of building robust partner sales organisations is second to none, and I am confident that he has the right mix of industry knowledge, business acumen and leadership skills to drive continued growth across Brocade's partner community," Lindholm said.

Lipsin added: "Brocade's partner ecosystem is one of the best in the industry, and I am committed to ensuring that we have the right strategy in place to quickly respond to customer and partner needs and fully capitalise on market opportunities as they present themselves."
