Management changes at Micro-P parent
Gerry O'Keefe to take full responsibility for DCC Sercom UK and Ireland
DCC SerCom, the parent company of Micro-P, has announced a number of senior management appointments that will take immediate effect.
The firm, which has grown turnover from £843m in 2008 to £1.85bn in its most recent financial year, is positioning itself for future growth and gearing up for the retirement of Sercom Solutions managing director Kevin Henry in November, who has held the role for 17 years.
In a statement the firm said its ambitious growth targets mean it is "necessary to ensure that [it] has the appropriate infrastructure and management structure" to deliver "strong and consistent growth" and align the business structure to best meet the needs of its partners.
“We are embarking on a rebranding exercise to be launched in October and are investing in our IT and logistics capabilities to provide the platform to enable us to continue to grow our market share supported by best-in-class systems and warehousing,” the statement said.
As a result, Gerry O’Keefe, who headed up the Micro-P Group – DCC SerCom’s largest subsidiary – will take on the role of managing director UK and Ireland for DCC SerCom, with a focus on ensuring its vendors and customers receive a consistent and co-ordinated approach across its entire product and service range.
Other management changes include Chris Peacock – who has been the managing director of gaming and retail specialist Gem Distribution for the past seven years – taking on the role of deputy managing director for SerCom UK and Ireland. He will also assume operational responsibility for all DCC SerCom’s home entertainment activities in the UK and Ireland.
Finally, Cormac Watters, chief operating officer and head of supply chain services for DCC SerCom, will take responsibility for the formulation and implementation of IT and logistics strategy for the company. He will also be responsible for the development and operations of DCC SerCom’s supply chain solutions business unit, SerCom Solutions, once Henry retires.
Niall Ennis, managing director of DCC SerCom, said: “I wish Gerry, Chris and Cormac every success in their new roles. Each of them has proven to be an excellent commercial leader in their current positions and I am certain that their contribution in these new roles will be instrumental in the future development of DCC SerCom. I would also like to thank Kevin for his loyal service and wish him every happiness in his retirement."
