Videonations pops into SPAR UK

Avaya partner installs real-time collaboration technology in seven business units across the UK

SPAR has embraced videoconferencing with the help of specialist VAR Videonations.

The retail giant was keen to find a solution to allow for executive collaboration across seven of its business units without the need for extensive travelling, and decided to opt for Avaya’s cloud-based collaboration technology Scopia, which Videonations duly installed.

Previously the seven business units had used basic teleconferencing systems which were inefficient and ineffective for collaboration and required their staff to travel to face-to-face meetings instead.

Richard Saville, business development manager at Videonations, said: “Videonations provides full end to end solutions for companies that wish to move effectively from a capex to an opex model – and gain the best of the technology without the hassle of maintenance. In the case of SPAR, Videonations demonstrated and supplied the endpoints and incorporated everything into a complete solution based on the Avaya Scopia platform.”

Roy Ford, IT controller at SPAR UK, added: “The combination of Avaya’s solution, which allows SPAR to have multiple connections in high-definition to each of our seven business units, using the cloud-based, hosted platform from Videonations, made the decision process easy. The ease-of-use of the Scopia system ensures that our adoption curve will be more easily managed than with other solutions, and we expect our use to grow as the system beds in at SPAR.”

Simon Culmenr, managing director of Avaya UK, added: “Avaya technologies are optimal for use both in a hosted as well as an owned environment. They’re designed to be flexible, scalable and open – and our Scopia solution ensures that business leaders and employees can interact face-to-face whenever and wherever they wish – without the hassle of traditional telepresence systems. We’re thrilled to have SPAR UK come on as a valued customer and look forward to working with them.”
