Microsoft VARs set for massive 2014 Dynamics price hike

Prices for some Dynamics, Server 2012 and Systems Centre 2012 products set to rocket by as much as 138 per cent in the new year

Microsoft resellers are set for price hikes of up to 138 per cent on some of the vendor's products next year, CRN understands.

In a recent SPLA (service provider licence agreement) price list seen by CRN, the vendor outlined a flurry of price hikes understood to be coming in from January 2014.

Prices for 15 versions of its Dynamics products are set to rocket in the new year, with its Dynamics SL 2011 AM Employee Self Service User SAL (subscriber access licence) set to rise the most steeply - 138.1 per cent.

Other similar products' prices are set to inflate in January too, with its Dynamics AX 2012 R2 products rocketing between 61 per cent and 63 per cent in the new year.

Aside from the Dynamics hikes, Microsoft is set to up prices for some other products by up to 50 per cent. Prices for its Systems Centre 2012 R2 Configuration Manager and Client Management Suite will swell 49.28 and 50.67 per cent respectively when the changes come in.

Microsoft was unavailable for comment as CRN went to press , but one anonymous partner said the price hikes could see partners look elsewhere for similar offerings.

"The prices quoted are pre-tax so unless they can justify price hikes up to 138 per cent in this current market they are simply asking customers to consider moving away from Microsoft and seek alternative vendors," said the source.
