HP UK leader Nick Wilson to be vendor's new wizard of Oz
Managing director for UK jetting off to lead the vendor's South Pacific business from November
HP's Nick Wilson is set to stand down from his role as UK Enterprise Group managing director in order to lead the vendor's South Pacific region.
Wilson (pictured), who has held the role since 2009, will take on the new role from 1 November. The vendor remained tight-lipped on who will replace Wilson, but said an announcement will be made in due course.
"Under his watch, HP in the UK has retained its number-one market position, taken great steps to open its supply chain to small businesses, and championed ICT in education," HP said in a statement.
At the start of this year, HP announced it was to jointly create degree courses in tech and computing with the University of Staffordshire, and speaking to CRN at the time, Wilson said promoting STEM [science, technology, engineering and maths] was important to him and HP.
Wilson's move comes after last month's Enterprise Group rejig which saw then chief operating officer Bill Veghte take over Dave Donatelli's former role as managing director. Donatalli was reassigned to work on early-stage technology within HP.
