Samsung signs Skinner to spearhead sales surge

Samsung Enterprise Business appoints Tim Skinner as UK and Ireland sales director

Samsung Enterprise has signed up Cisco veteran Tim Skinner to lead its sales push in the UK and Ireland (UKI).

Skinner joins Samsung as its UKI sales director from Cisco, where he held the same role after working in a variety of sales and business development positions over 14 years. In the new job, he will lead Enterprise sales activity across a range of markets including retail, hospitality, finance, education, transport, manufacturing and healthcare.

Samsung claims its Enterprise business is core to its strategy, and it hopes the business will make up 21 per cent of its revenue by 2020, up from seven per cent as of today.

Skinner will report to Graham Long, vice president or corporate sales and IT solutions, who said Skinner will play a key role in the division's growth ambitions.

"We are extremely pleased to have Tim join us at an exciting time for the business," said Long. "He will be integral to our ambitions in [the] Enterprise Business, using his vast experience as a platform to achieve the enterprise growth targets for the division."

Skinner added that he was excited about the new role and was committed to ensuring his sales team smash their growth targets.
