HP's Isherwood takes over the UK reins

Current software boss to replace Nick Wilson next month

HP has crowned company veteran Andy Isherwood as its next UK and Ireland managing director from next month when he will replace Nick Wilson.

Last month, the vendor announced Wilson will move to lead its South Pacific business from 1 November, and incoming Isherwood will take over the role then.

Isherwood (pictured) is currently senior vice president of global sales services and support at HP Software, and before that held a number of roles globally across HP for more than 25 years. He joined the firm as a graduate trainee in 1988.

In his new role he will report to Peter Ryan, senior vice president for HP's EMEA Enterprise Group.

"He is a very experienced and talented leader and the right person to run the UK business," said Ryan.

"Today's announcement also underlines our commitment to career development, and continued support to move and promote internal talent – Andy joined HP in 1988 with the graduate training programme and has risen through the ranks."

Mark Starkey, UK managing director of HP partner Logicalis, welcomed Isherwood's appointment.

"This is good news," he said. "He was the favourite in our eyes so it's no great surprise."
