SBL parts ways with sales and marketing boss Gannon

Reseller declined to comment but Claire Gannon took to Twitter to make the announcement

VAR Software Box Limited (SBL) has parted ways with its sales and marketing director Claire Gannon, CRN understands.

The York-based software licensing specialist declined to comment, but according to what appears to be Gannon's publicly available Twitter page, she received a letter terminating her employment this week.

"According to a letter dated 2nd Oct, my employment with SBL ceased on the 30th of Sep! Nice," a post from her Twitter account read.

A separate tweet from her account said: "The HR [human resources] manager will probably want to meet me in the pub car park to collect company property!" A string of other, more cryptic tweets relating to subjects such as framework agreements and commercial compliance, were also posted at around the same time.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Gannon held the role of sales and marketing director since 2011, after working at the firm since 2001.

Gannon was contacted by CRN and at the time of publication had not responded. Prior to the announcement of her departure on Twitter, she took to the page and said:

"Hi all. Many thanks for working with me and for your drive, ambition and desire to achieve best ever results. You did it!"

The Twitter account seems certain to belong to Gannon as prior to the tweets revealing her departure, the account was used regularly to publicise official SBL business, although the account has not been verified as belonging to her.
