intY expands cloud portfolio with dual vendor partnerships
Deals inked with Eclipse and AlwaysOn to expand 'bring and buy' apps and services store
Distributor intY has signed up ISP Eclipse and private cloud specialist AlwaysOn to make their offerings available via Cascade, its online apps and services marketplace.
The Bristol distie said the new vendor deals would boost its cloud-based provisioning platform with the likes of Microsoft Lync over private MPLS from AlwaysOn and business-class internet services from Eclipse.
Offerings from Cisco, Microsoft and Symantec, as well as various ISVs, are already available via Cascade.
Chris Baldock, managing director of intY (pictured), said Cascade – which he described as a "bring and buy" marketplace – was moving towards becoming a "complete, end to end" offering with unified communications.
"Unified communications remains an extremely exciting and competitive space in the industry," Baldock said in a PR statement.
AlwaysOn has been a "strategic" partner since last year, but is the first example of a Cascade partner of that type signing to become an actual vendor on the platform, according to PR.
James Byles, managing director of AlwaysOn, said the strategic partnership enabled it to deploy cloud services and building blocks for its own new offerings.
"We now want to take the relationship with intY to another level and offer our Lync 2013 product for partners and resellers to utilise as part of their offerings," Byles said.
Eclipse, through the deal, will gain access to complementary products aggregated on Cascade to meet "rising demand" for cloud applications from its SMB customers.
Pete Tomlinson, director of sales and marketing at Eclipse, said smaller firms are now seeing the value of cloud services and Cascade provided a straightforward way for them to adopt cloud services.
