Linux IT hits back of net with the Premier League

Open source software specialist to supply managed services for inter-club communication

Open source reseller Linux IT has scored a deal with the Premier League to provide equipment used by football clubs to share information.

The Bristol-based firm will enable the Premier League's tech bods to focus on developing new applications and mission-critical development while it takes care of its system administration and provide services for its Linux infrastructure.

Mike Curtis, Linux IT's executive director said the contract win demonstrates the value of Linux technology.

"We're delighted that the Premier League has decided to outsource the support of their Linux infrastructure to us and look forward to delivering our best practice service and support," he said.

"This is another shining example of LinuxIT demonstrating the value of outsourcing management and the proliferation of Linux amongst the biggest organisations around the world who rely on Linux servers because they're fast and reliable".
