Belkin set to announce Linksys channel plans

Acquirer of SMB-focused brand ready to outline new global channel and strategy

Belkin is gearing up to roll out an SMB and channel programme globally for the Linksys marque, which it acquired from Cisco in March.

It is understood that Belkin, itself known primarily for its expertise in consumer peripherals, intends to officially launch the programme in Dubai next week at the Gitex trade show.

A range of business connectivity and security products will be rolled out to tempt SMBs with 5-99 seats as well as VARs in coming months, an email from company PR suggested.

"Belkin's intention in purchasing Linksys was to honour the heritage of the Linksys brand and further expand the product line in consumer wireless, SMB and service provider market segments," it said.

Linksys kit has continued to be available in the UK via Currys and the like since the acquisition.
