Integralis officially becomes NTT Com
Months after it announced intention to ditch name, Japanese parent company finally adopts UK subsidiary under its own brand
Security specialist Integralis has officially changed its name to NTT Com Security as the Japanese giant brings all its subsidiaries under the same brand.
Integralis was acquired by NTT Com back in 2009. The Secode brand - which Integralis bought from NTT Com in 2011 will also disappear and become part of NTT Com Security.
Simon Church, (pictured) chief executive of NTT Security told CRN the move was a positive one for staff. “This move was originally announced in June – we are publicly listed but owned by NTT.
It is great news for the company and customers, and partners and very important for employees because it serves as a future commitment from NTT to our organisation and allows us to position ourselves as part of the 14th largest ICT brand in the world. It really gives us kudos when we go and speak to multi-national corporations.”
He explained the firm was also in the process of rolling out a new service brand called ‘WideAngle’ – which wraps its offerings into a new managed security services platform.
“This really positions us as a service centric organisation, but still very much around security and risk management solutions. The beauty of WideAngle is we can provide small chunks of functionality or ‘pods’ into an organisation,” Church said. “We can take these pods and support them across the networks.”
He added the name change also sets the foundations for scaling the company in line with demand. “We are continuing to grow as a business. The security marketplace is in a wonderful growth position. Attacks are becoming ever more sophisticated and this allows us to continue growth, particularly as the C-suite [of executives] are becoming more concerned about brand protection and management of these activities and are taking these things far more seriously.”
Church added the firm would look to grow both ‘inorganically’ and organically.
“We want to ensure we are at the leading edge of trends in the marketplace and making sure we are very much out there in a leadership position,” he said.
Akira Arima, chief executive of NTT Communications, said in a statement: “Naming NTT Com Security as our dedicated security arm will further establish us as a global entity committed to resolving IT challenges faced by today’s businesses.
“Through the WideAngle brand, we will continue to promote our information security and risk management skills, expertise and services, as well as enhance our global cloud vision to provide secure global cloud services on a seamless, end-to-end basis.”
