Big top- and bottom-line boost for Comms-care in FY13

Support services player plans to continue strong growth

Third-party services specialist Comms-care is celebrating a stellar 2013 fiscal year which saw sales expand more than 50 per cent and operating increase threefold.

The Cheshire-based firm grew sales for the 12 months to 31 March 2013 by 51.5 per cent to £15.6m, while operational income soared about 200 per cent to £2.1m. The company boosted the number of reseller partners it works with to 600, a 30 per cent increase over the course of the year. It claimed it works with about 30 of the UK's 100 leading resellers – including eight of the top 10.

Headcount was also on the up in FY13, with staff numbers growing by 34 to 151. The goal over the coming years is to swell the employee ranks to 300 by March 2016.

A new addition to the boardroom set-up was made during the year in the shape of ex-Equanet exec Steve Holah, who joined as finance director. Reporting to the board, a quintet of senior managers were also appointed during FY13: head of technical services Matt Long; sales managers Joey Ghader and Pete Murphy; service desk manager Rachel Mander; and HR manager Neil Bryers.

Comms-care managing director Ben Davies said: "Comms-care has continued to make excellent progress this year, delivering strong growth and investing to further expand our portfolio of IT support services. IT resellers are increasingly looking to outsource the provision of IT services, and Comms-care's reseller-only business model, coupled with our reputation for service excellence and technical expertise, puts us in an excellent position to continue to grow rapidly in the years ahead."
