Capita cashes in on £73.5m Croydon council IT overhaul
Outsourcing giant selected to supply London borough with range of tech supplies
Capita has won a multimillion-pound megadeal with the London Borough of Croydon to supply it with a range of IT kit.
The £73.5m deal, which will run for nine years – with the chance to break after years five and seven – will see the outsourcing giant's Secure Information Solutions (SIS) arm overhaul the authority's tech estate.
The wide-spanning contract will see Capita provide the council with tech such as mobile phones, networking equipment and cabling, telecoms kit, software and associated services, repair and maintenance and auditing services over the course of the contract.
A recently published contract award notice said Capita will also offer Croydon professional services relating to business and technology transformation, programme and project management and business analysis.
Capita beat two other contenders for the deal and was chosen based on criteria weighting of 60 per cent for quality and 40 per cent on price.
