Jabra-cadabra - telecoms vendor pulls ex-Azlan boss out of hat

New managing director decision Dunn and dusted

Ex-Azlan boss Nigel Dunn is set to pop up at telecoms vendor Jabra as its new UK and Ireland (UKI) managing director.

Dunn (pictured below right) completed his last day as director of the distributor giant last week and will begin his new role at Jabra at the start of next month.

Before his near-two-year stint as Azlan's UK boss, Dunn worked with the firm's parent company Tech Data in a consulting capacity on a variety of projects as well as with other firms on business acceleration and turnaround initiatives. Former IBM channel boss Gareth Hansford has assumed Dunn's former role.

Dunn takes over at Jabra from former UKI boss Andrew Doyle, who has moved within the vendor to become its senior channel director in EMEA.

Dunn told CRN he was excited to begin the new role and that his channel background will stand him in good stead.

"[Jabra has] a distribution strategy; it's specialist and it's wide so it will probably need a look at. I [want to] broaden the sphere of the channel and encompass a more mainstream type of reseller they have missed out on. They largely focus on telecoms resellers so there is lots of scope to broaden that."

Jabra EMEA president Joel Hamon said he hopes Dunn's arrival will boost growth.

"With Nigel in place as the new managing director for this sub-region I am confident that we have found a very dedicated and truly experienced business and people leader who will further enhance the expertise and focus of the UKI team, in order to continue our business growth in 2014," he added.
