Cloud storage Stacks up in Aintree

Provider expands its capacity on the back of annual growth

Merseyside storage and virtualised networking specialist Stack Data Solutions is expanding its cloud storage capacity to the tune of £1.7m.

According to a statement put out by Stack, the move is on the back of previously reported 2012 growth of 84 per cent year on year in revenue terms.

Jeff Orr, chairman of Aintree-based Stack, said: "We have plenty of capacity for our current clients' needs, but there is a definite trend towards businesses looking at their IT costs and recognising the opportunity to save money.

"We believe that demand will only increase as businesses see the benefits [of cloud storage]."

Stack, founded in 1979, is also buying racks sufficient to house another 8,400 virtual servers in support. Vendor partners include Stratus, Microsoft, VMware, Exinda, Asigra, EMC and Dell EqualLogic.
