InTechnology signs Teletext cloud deal

Managed services and hosted contract boosts retail sector sales

Services provider InTechnology has inked a managed services and hosting contract with travel agent Teletext Holidays.

Natalie Duffield, sales director at InTechnology, said the provider had worked to make its relationships strong and business objectives transparent to sharpen its edge.

"Providing an honest and trustworthy service is a priority and we're delighted that this has been recognised," Duffield said. "As a result of our managed services, Teletext estimates that they will achieve a 25 per cent reduction in datacentre costs alone, with further savings accruing from reduced overheads away from low-value work, and from a streamlined single-source supply arrangement."

Mariusz Nowak, operations manager at Teletext Holidays, said its in-house team is increasingly focusing on the front-end product, which means it needs to be able to introduce technologies and skill sets to support the back end but lower its overheads.

"We saw InTechnology's managed services portfolio as an assured way of rising to both of these primary challenges – essentially in its people and their understanding of a commercial partnership. It's not just about what is delivered, it's about how it is delivered and supported and improved and taken forward," Nowak said.

Teletext has chosen datacentre services as well as the fully managed networks service including LAN, WAN and firewalls. More than 100 old physical servers previously housed on its premises were stood down, with 36 new servers moved to InTechnology's London datacentre where they will be monitored around the clock.

According to InTechnology, Teletext Holidays is one of the oldest names in travel, providing consumer package deals for 20 years.
