Dell swings axe on 'small segment' of UK workforce
Licensing staff understood to be at risk
Dell has confirmed it is making some UK staff redundant as it looks to streamline its operations and improve business efficiency.
The vendor confirmed that several roles are at risk but only within "a small segment" of its business, which CRN understands to be licensing.
Dell said in order to protect the privacy of those affected, it would not comment on exactly how many roles are at risk, but did confirm the job cuts.
The company insisted the decision to axe staff was not taken lightly and that it is working hard to minimise the impact on those affected.
"We can confirm that we have identified a number of roles at risk from a small segment of our UK workforce and that these decisions were made only after careful thought and deliberation," it said.
"Decisions like this one are not easy but are necessary to meet the long-term objectives of our business. We are committed to our customers and to providing the quality, service and value they've come to expect from us, and are committed to maintaining that promise.
"We recognise any proposed reduction is significant for potentially affected team members and their teams and we are working to minimise consequences."
