Print resellers DMC and Canotec merge
Deal boosts south and south-west focus on managed print and document offerings
Croydon printer reseller DMC Business Machines has bought rival Canotec for an undisclosed amount.
According to PR from DMC, Canotec, which has offices in Ringwood, London, and Bristol, will operate as an independent subsidiary within the DMC group.
Jon Hill, managing director of DMC, said the acquisition would add 20 years of knowledge and expertise to DMC in the South and South-West.
Canotec founder David Newman will remain as head of the new subsidiary from Ringwood, and Mark Allen would continue to lead the Bristol operation.
"Both will remain as directors and shareholders within the group," Hill indicated.
Canotec's Newman said both companies shared a similar focus on the customer experience.
"There are immediate benefits with greater combined buying power, fast access to DMC's superb logistics and distribution model with their extensive stock holding, and a seamless national managed print capability," he said.
DMC was founded in 1991; Canotec in 1992.
