InTechnology celebrates fruity deal
MSP wins colocation, managed backup and WAN contract with top UK and European fruit supplier
InTechnology has snapped up a colocation hosting, managed backup and WAN deal with fruit supplier Poupart.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum resulted from the fact that Poupart – which supplies fruit to both UK and European supermarkets – had a server room that was vulnerable to both flooding and power outages, and the situation was getting worse as the business grew.
To win the deal, InTechnology proposed a colocation solution, with servers physically removed from Poupart's head office and placed in its own Harrogate-based datacentre.
InTechnology would also manage the WAN and the UK connecting circuits, along with its managed backup service which involved consolidating and storing data from across the nine Poupart sites.
Gary Cooper, infrastructure manager at Poupart, said: "You could say that hosting is hosting and one datacentre environment is very like another, but from the off InTechnology demonstrated that they were far more of an IT partner than just an IT provider.”
“We now have an IT infrastructure that is far more aligned with the needs of the business but going forward we also have someone who we trust to advise us, to support us and to supply us with additional services.”
Mark Halpin, sales manager at InTechnology, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen by Poupart to provide them with several of our services. By working together we have enabled Poupart’s IT team to focus its time and effort on IT service delivery, supporting staff and clients, and strategic IT development – instead of having its resources drained on a compromised infrastructure.
“Now Poupart has made the positive transition into the cloud, they can begin to assess potential next steps and make decisions as and when it suits, allowing the company to be more agile; reacting quickly to its business needs.”
