Arrow launches training alliance
Fresh from being selected as one of four IBM global training providers, distributor sets up dedicated programme
Arrow has unveiled a Global Training Alliance as it looks to set up an ecosystem to make IBM training available worldwide.
The move comes shortly after it was named as one of the four IBM global training providers for its Software Group and Systems and Technology Group.
It means Arrow and members of the Arrow Global Training Alliance will offer IBM training in 60 countries, and are on track to cover 130 countries in the next six months.
IT training specialist Fast Lane has become the first to join the scheme and will offer authorised IBM training through its global learning network to complement Arrow's capabilities and offerings.
Training currently covers IBM systems (such as Power Systems, PureSystems); System X and BladeCenter; System z; cloud computing and software (such as Tivoli and WebSphere). But plans are afoot to expand the offerings.
Laurent Sadoun, president of EMEA for Arrow's enterprise computing solutions division, said: "Education is a key element of our value-added services, enabling the market and the channel to support technology suppliers with product and solution readiness.
“We look forward to our strategic co-operation across North America and Europe with Fast Lane, a well-established training provider serving ideal conditions to roll out our IBM Global Training programme."
He added: "Arrow will soon complement the portfolio with a solution approach addressing critical business areas such as big data, mobility, security and cloud computing leveraging its IBM strategic relationship in product businesses, combined with Arrow’s network of complementary vendors in security, virtualisation and mobility.”
