London NHS Trust hunts £50m IT partner

Clinical Systems Programme deal could last up to ten years

One of the largest NHS Trusts in the UK is on the lookout for an IT partner to provide it with managed services for up to ten years in a deal which could top the £50m mark.

The Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) employs more than 7,000 staff and contributes to to more than 300 different health service sites across London, Milton Keynes, Kent, Surrey and Hampshire.

It is hoping to sign up a managed services provider to supply it with technology such as database services, consultancy services, disaster recovery, and help-desk support.

The provider is sought for an initial five-year period but the contract could continue for up to another five years through one or more extension periods.

Providers will be invited to bid for business across three lots: clinical systems for community health services; clinical systems for mental health services; and pharmacy systems for both mental health and community services.

On top of this, complementary technology including monitoring equipment, whiteboards and other ancillary equipment will also be required from the partner.

The deal is expected to be worth between £29m and £50m.
