Extreme offers VARs and clients $100k prize to pick new logo

Networking vendor puts four potential designs to the public vote

Extreme Networks is offering a prize of up to $100,000 in a contest allowing customers and partners to vote on what the vendor's new logo should look like.

The San Jose-based networking firm has narrowed the options down to four potential designs (pictured in the screenshot, below right) and people can pick their favourite on the Vote Extreme Sweepstake website.

The prize pot is dependent on the amount of people who vote; if the number stretches past the six-figure mark, then a prize of up to $100,000 (£60,795) or a car from Tesla Motors (subject to terms and conditions) will be offered. Chief executive Charles Berger that explained that he wants VARs and clients to help shape Extreme's brand.

"We are inviting you, our customers, partners, and community to help Extreme Networks redefine our company's brand identity. As a social business, we work hard to nurture an inclusive culture, because together is always better," he writes. "Our new brand identity and spark will come from us, but the flames, heat and energy ultimately come from you and your collective insight."
