Daisy hopes new VAR offer will help BlackBerry sales bloom
Daisy Distribution creates points-based system in an effort to grow its BlackBerry tech sales by half
Daisy Distribution has created a new incentive programme for resellers in a bid to boost its Blackberry sales by half.
The last few months has been tumultuous for the ailing smartphone maker after it confirmed it was to slash its headcount by 40 per cent and its agreed sale to Fairfax Financial Holdings fell through, prompting its chief executive to leave.
But despite the doom and gloom, yesterday analyst Citron Research claimed the company had been misunderstood and its problems blown out of proportion.
And it seems Daisy has not given up hope on selling Blackberry's new BlackBerry 10 (BB10) phone or its BES 10.2 cloud service - both of which are forming part of its new incentive scheme.
The promotional scheme, which will be launched at its Evolving Solutions event this week, will see Daisy offer its partners the chance to collect points based on the amount of kit they sell, all leading to a cash reward.
For each BB10 sold, two points will be awarded, while five points can be collected for each sale of the BES 10 service. Once a minimum of 50 points have been accumulated, cash rewards will be dished out, up to the value of £1,000.
The offer runs from the start of February until the end of April, and Daisy hopes sales of the vendor's kit will rise by half, according to the firm's marketing director Julien Parven.
"The whole concept is designed to increase the sales of BlackBerry10 devices, promoting the new BES10.2 cloud service providing customers with a multi-platform MDM solution. We are looking to see a 50 per cent uplift in sales during the incentive period," he said.
