Azzurri chief to step down in the summer
Vim Vithaldas sees firm through period of transformation, but set to leave in July
Azzurri's chief executive is to step down in July after overseeing the comms specialist's refinancing and repositioning for growth.
Vim Vithaldas will leave the company at the end of its financial year in July, after deciding he cannot continue in his position for 'family reasons'.
Vithaldas started as chief executive in December 2011, after the firm completed a refinancing process with new backers, charged with the task delivering a firm foundation of financial stability and commercial focus for the business.
Last October he oversaw a move which saw Azzurri's backers wipe more than three quarters of its debts to ease potential customers' fears over its finances. The firm also announced a £3m investment in new cloud-based telecoms services over three years.
Steve Andrews, chairman of Azzurri Commuincations, said in a statement: "We are now well set to accelerate further Azzurri's position in the market and will announce Vim's successor to take this forward during the coming months.
"Vim has the Board’s full confidence to continue to drive the business forward with my support and achieve a successful transition to the new chief executive.”
