CCS Media celebrates record year

VAR sees sales increase 22 per cent with hardware and services driving growth

CCS Media was a fraction away from smashing through the £100m turnover barrier in 2013.

Citing a 'record' financial year, the firm posted sales of £98m, a 22 per cent increase on the same time the previous year.

Strongest growth areas were hardware and services, the firm said, in particular cloud and virtualisation, which grew by 90 per cent. Sales of desktop computers and tablets grew 35 per cent.

Terry Betts, managing director of CCS Media, said: "Our continued stategy of growth, recruitment and exceptional service has widened our presence in the industry and improved our performance across all brands; in 2013 we saw a growth in products from Dell, HP, Microsoft and Cisco, and despite the now more widely used mobile devices, our sales of desktop computers was surprisingly good.”

The firm also took on 30 sales staff last year and is looking to take on another 40 this year.

Betts said: "We take pride in our staff and award those who achieve well. We are committed to growth and are giving opportunities to those with little or no experience by way of our apprenticeship campaign.

"In order to have the best sales staff in the industry, we are investing £250,000 on sales training in the first half of this year and I am proud to say, are doing so without any manufacturer backing or sponsorship,” he said.
