Micro-P moves into super-sized offices

Distributor doubles the size of its previous office as it combines several businesses in Stoke-on-Trent into one building and guns for mobility growth

Exertis Micro-P has moved into a new office double the size of its previous one, as it brings several of its businesses together under one roof.

The firm is part of the DCC SerCom distribution group – which last year rebranded to include the prefix Exertis – and has ambitious plans to become the third largest distributor in Europe.

As a result of the move, the new 10,500 square foot office now houses Exertis Security, Exertis GEM Design services, the northern team for Conect and Exertis Micro-P Mobile North.

It also boasts training and support facilities and is the home of the Exertis Micro-P Mobile Evaluation Scheme.

The firm claims the move is to fuel its continued planned expansion in mobility, unified communications and managed security services and increase its nationwide footprint.

Gerry O’Keeffe, managing director of Exertis UK & Ireland Group, said: “This move is strategic for the development of Exertis. In terms of space, we now have the room to grow our teams, and we can dedicate even more resources to our customers, bringing them to us for planning meetings, vendor training days and more.

“This new office brings our company closer together under the Exertis brand, creating tighter working relationships, strengthening internal relationships, and allowing more communication between departments.”

He predicted that 2014 is set to be a ‘year of tremendous growth’ for the firm.

“We have invested £1.5m in purchasing this site, which is testament to our long term plans to build significant sales capacity in the Stoke-On-Trent area. We now employ over sixty people in the area and see it as a very promising hinterland for the recruitment of quality sales people”.
