Westcon adds Vasco data security across EMEA
Distributor also to eat own dog food, implementing Vasco itself
Westcon Group has been chosen to distribute authentication and e-security offerings from Vasco Data Security across the EMEA region.
Westcon was already a Vasco partner, but the relationship is being extended to cover strategic distribution in EMEA, including the UK, a spokesman said.
Willem de Haan, senior EMEA vice president at Westcon, said the agreement enriched its security portfolio, enabling the group to better address regional and international customer demands.
"All Westcon EMEA branch offices will now participate in the Vasco partner programme. By further enhancing [our relationship] geographically, we can collaborate better on a commercial level," de Haan confirmed.
Jan Valcke, president and chief operating officer for Vasco, said Westcon was a VAD with broad experience already in security and authentication.
"This partnership enables us to better target the EMEA markets and to offer extensive client-centric services through internationally focused resources," Valcke said.
Westcon has itself deployed a Vasco authentication platform, Mydigipass.com, in its UK partner portal targeting resellers and SIs with marketing materials and programmes. It expects to expand this beyond the UK in the coming months, he said.
"Everywhere, company-critical and personal information has been exposed and fraudsters are constantly looking for network flaws," said Haan. "The only way to fight this is by offering a secure login."
