Multimillion-pound Greenwich IT megadeal up for grabs

London borough seeks multiple partners to overhaul IT systems in £70m deal

The London Borough of Greenwich (LBG) is on the hunt for a range of firms to supply it with up to £70m of kit as part of an IT overhaul.

The authority requires everything from IT services, networking kit, repair and maintenance equipment, servers, email systems and printing products as part of the deal, which is set to total between £50m and £70m.

The deal will last for five years initially, with the opportunity to extend for a further two years and will be split up into six separate lots for which suppliers can bid separately.

The first lot tenders for network infrastructure and cabling equipment, while the second covers helpdesk and support services. The third and fourth lots include application support and IT services respectively, while lots five and six cover datacentre hosting services and printer support.

In the recently published tender document, Greenwich said it would not rule out looking at awarding SMBs a place on its framework.

"The Royal Borough is looking for innovative flexible partners who have a passion for ICT and delivering first-class customer experience to its clients," it said.

"[We] consider that this contract may be suitable for... small or medium enterprises, however... the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender."
