Mimecast gives nod to first 100 cloud migration partners

Email management vendor says over a quarter of its UK partners are on board with new cloudy badge

More than a quarter of Mimecast's 400 UK partners have netted a new badge that allows them to manage cloud migration projects for the email management vendor.

Since it was introduced last May, Mimecast claimed that over 100 UK partners have achieved its Certified Technical Specialists certification, which requires them to have four trained technical consultants.

Mimecast channel director Nessa Lynchehaun claimed the certification would reduce any barriers for customers weighing up migrating to the cloud.

"It has quickly been successful because it gives the channel the skills to capitalise on the cloud and a certification brand that gives customers confidence," she said.

Pierre Hall, director of workplace and software at Computacenter, said: "We have found many customers keen to move away from on-premise but are reluctant to move to the cloud because they lack the skills and experience to be confident managing the migration themselves.

"Achieving Mimecast certification means customers can see and be confident we can manage the migration for them and this leads to increased sales."

UK-based Mimecast claims to deliver cloud-based email management to Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 to more than 8,000 customers and two million users.
