Upgrade Options Appeals for support

VAR wears poppy with pride as it enters into fund-raising partnership with Royal British Legion to commemorate centenary of WW1 breakout

VAR Upgrade Options is hoping to raise a significant amount of money for the Royal British Legion to mark the centenary of the beginning of the First World War.

The Surrey-based firm has always associated itself with various organisations, and has a long-standing association with the RNLI, but revealed it has decided to go "all in" with the British Legion at such a poignant time.

Glenn Morrison, managing director of the £8.7m firm, said: “This year is going to be brimming with local, national and international events marking the beginning of the tragedy that was WW1, and these will likely resonate through until November 2018, the centenary of the Armistice.

“Through a donation per applicable invoice and contributions to one-off projects, we hope to raise awareness of the amazing work that the Legion does, while getting our name out to a broader audience. WW1 drew in all races and religions and must simply never be forgotten.”

He added: “I have no doubt and truly hope that many more businesses will be following our lead, the RBL are great to work with and really look to deliver on their side of the bargain.

“With a foot in both the business and public sector, a tie-up with the poppy at this time allows us to send a single, powerful, values-based message to our client base,” he added.
