MSPs merge as they look to growth
DCG and alwaysON join forces as their financial backer looks for more acquisitions
Data Continuity Group and alwaysON have merged to create an £8.5m managed services player that is on the hunt for more acquisitions.
The move, supported by Foresight Group VCT Funds, is part of a plan to accelerate product development and strengthen the balance sheet of the combined company, as it looks for further companies to buy.
alwaysON supplies a range of data communications, voice and UC applications and has its own MPLS network, and DCG specialises in data management and protection services.
Under the deal, Martin Peck will take on the role of chairman of the combined group, with managing director Alan Back, services director Neil Hewer and financial controller Charlotte Histed all to be appointed to the board of the group holding company.
In a statement, Peck said: “We have no doubt that the combined value offered by DCG and alwaysON will enable our customers to realise significant benefits across the board.
“Uniting the two organisations means we can provide best-of-breed solutions that can improve business performance and efficiency today and the opportunity for innovation tomorrow. It's a very exciting proposition."
