Micro-P builds on value-add with Kazam deal

Firm gets set to develop joint service propositions with mobile phone manufacturer

Micro-P, part of the Exertis group of companies, has signed a deal with mobile phone manufacturer Kazam to offer a jointly developed range of support services to its reseller base.

The distributor claims it is building on the value-add proposition it gained through its acquisition of Cohort Technology last year.

Services set to be offered as part of the deal include Kazam Rescue for call centre remote access to fix devices, and Screen Repair, where phone users can replace screens free in the first year of a device's life. These services will be expanded in the future, both firms said.

Simon Woodman, mobile sales director at Exertis Micro-P, said: “We are excited to get Kazam onboard. It’s a new brand with a fresh view of the market, and we are very taken with its innovative approach to services. We will be looking at jointly developing propositions for certain areas of the market to enhance that service value-add.

“Kazam’s devices are of excellent design and are high quality, and are set to create a healthy proposition for the first smartphone user that wants a device that looks and acts like a high-end phone, but that is affordable, and the older mobile phone user that wants to be able to communicate and stay safe. We expect Kazam to make a strong impact in the UK teenage and senior market,” he said.

Rakesh Odedra, UK and Ireland sales director at Kazam, said: “For us it’s about finding the right kind of partnership. As a challenger brand Kazam is at the start of the journey; everyone has been excited with our propositions and portfolio but it is now about taking it to the next level. We were impressed by the way Exertis Micro-P approached our business. As a company it shares a lot of the same values as Kazam, and we’re very happy to be working with the team.”
