Dolman stands down as VMware channel chief

Ed Dolman to head up UK enterprise sales team

VMware's channel chief Ed Dolman is leaving his role to head up one of the vendor's enterprise sales teams in the UK.

Dolman (pictured) – who has been in his current role for the past two and a half years – took to Twitter to announce the news.

"An exciting change of role for me today," he said. "I am moving on from the channel role to run one of the VMware enterprise sales teams in the UK!"

VMware was still preparing a comment at the time of publication, but CRN understands a replacement for Dolman has yet to be decided as the recruitment process is ongoing.

Dolman joined VMware in 2010 as a senior distribution manager, after serving as Symantec's channel team leader for four years.

Update

In a statement sent to CRN since this story was published, Richard Kerr, director northern EMEA, partners and general business at VMware, confirmed that Dolman's new role is head of enterprise tier two sales.

"Ed's in-depth knowledge of VMware's channel community will be instrumental in this role and he will continue to work closely with VMware's partner community as part of our go to market," Kerr said.
