HP to own up to Polish corruption today - reports

Long-running corruption probe expected to come to a head later on

HP is expected to admit carrying out corrupt activities in Poland later today, according to the country's interior minister who made the claims on national radio this morning.

The accusations were first made public in September in an HP 10-Q filing in which it admitted it was under investigation by the Polish Central Anti-Corruption Bureau for possible breaches of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

The probe centres around the actions of an HP Poland employee relating to certain public sector transactions in the country.

Poland's interior minister Bartlomiej Sienkiewicz said HP's acknowledgement of the actions is imminent, Reuters reports.

"I confirm that it's going to happen today," he said. "It's a breakthrough moment in Poland when a great international company acknowledges its corrupt activities in Poland."
