Infinigate UK shoots the iSheriff towards resellers
Cloud-based content and endpoint security vendor iSheriff built with two-tier channel in mind, claims distributor
Distributor Infinigate UK has signed its first pure-play cloud vendor in the shape of iSheriff, which it claims is built from the ground up for resellers.
Infinigate UK co-founder Murray Pearce said the goal is to sign up 20 partners on behalf of the vendor, which provides web, email and endpoint security from a single cloud-based console.
"What I like about iSheriff is it is a cloud solution built with the channel in mind," Pearce said.
"Resellers can white-label it or badge it as iSheriff and can provision it to customers – it's all slickly commercially managed through an interface designed for a two-tier channel."
Although iSheriff scales up to large enterprises, end users would typically run a DLP solution alongside it if they had complex DLP needs, Pearce said.
"But if you want to do good anti-spam, basic DLP, and web, mail and endpoint security on a single console, it's a very good solution and is what a lot of customers are looking for," he added. "It also has a strong mobility play."
iSheriff already has several hundred UK customers and a commodity channel here, Pearce said, courtesy of its recent acquisition of CA's anti-virus customer base (under its old name of Total Defense).
"Part of the reason they have signed us up is because they are moving away from broadline distribution and commodity anti-virus, which they inherited from CA," Pearce explained.
