Axial Systems solves recruitment riddle
VAR outsources first stage of interview process as it gears up to expand salesforce
VAR Axial Systems has turned to a specialist recruitment firm to help it sort the wheat from the chaff as it embarks on a hiring blitz.
The networking and security specialist is recruiting six sales staff but has outsourced the first layer of interviews to specialist IT sales recruitment firm Robertson Sumner.
Although there is no shortage of IT sales staff on the market, uncovering candidates with the right skills and outlook can be time consuming, said Axial managing director Mike Simmonds.
"Every time we interview for a post, we have to interview six people before we want to take someone to the next stage," Simmonds said.
"The value [Robertson Sumner] bring is they understand the sort of personnel we need to bring into the business. This process should mean we get the best people in the market talking to us."
Axial, which turns 25 this year, has vacancies for account managers, senior account managers and account directors.
Simmonds said the hires are part of a wider expansion strategy that saw it snap up fellow McAfee partner Clearview Systems last month.
"We think Axial is capable of delivering significantly higher sales to our investors and the company," he said. "We already have the back end and technical infrastructure in place to support higher sale activities."
