Phoenix opens demo centre in West Midlands
Technology innovation centre targets mid-market IT concerns
Cloud and managed services provider Phoenix has opened a West Midlands technology innovation centre targeting mid-market prospects.
Mike Osborne, managing director of business continuity services at Phoenix, indicated that mid-market firms had a range of concerns regarding the current direction and management of IT evolution.
"For many firms their investment in IT is one of their biggest and most strategic. Yet in the mid-market, firms are not on the radar of the big vendors and therefore are left to pick through options without being fully informed," Osborne said.
"This is the concern we are aiming to address with the opening of the centre."
Osborne said that Phoenix's inventory around IT recovery is being used to stage a testing environment to help customers decide what to buy. In Aston, the centre opened 14 May, with the next open day scheduled for 5 June.
Osborne did not say how much the presentation and demo centre cost but indicated it was in the "six figures", helped along with support from vendor partners including Asigra, Citrix, HP, NetApp and Microsoft.
