Azzurri announces interim chief
Vim Vithaldas set to step down as CEO next month before company kicks off growth strategy, which includes a reduction in headcount
Azzurri chairman Steve Andrews is set to take on the interim chief executive role next month when incumbent Vim Vithaldas departs, and has the tricky role of reducing the firm’s headcount.
As part of a three-year growth strategy, the firm is set to close its High Wycombe office and a logistics centre in Aldridge as it consolidates into a single building in Weybridge and loses 24 people from across the business.
Vithaldas announced earlier this year that he was set to leave after completing his objectives of getting the VAR on a “really firm financial footing”. His last day will be 11 June.
This next phase of growth will see acceleration in the launch of new products and services, enhanced customer engagement and increased efficiency, the firm claimed.
It has already launched two new services – ICON Communicate, a cloud-based managed comms service, and ICON Mobilise – allowing organisations to manage and secure mobile devices across complex estates.
In a statement, Andrews said: “We are extremely well positioned to deliver value to both our customers and shareholders as the economy improves. Azzurri is renowned for its expertise in delivering competitive enterprise communications solutions and understanding its customers’ needs both today and for the future. This restructuring will deliver new services, increased efficiency and focus to meet these goals.
“I am looking forward to both my time as interim CEO and to announcing my full-time replacement in the very near future.”
