Azzurri names Chris Jagusz as new CEO

SSE Telecoms boss will become new leader of comms integrator after the summer

Azzurri has named telecoms veteran Chris Jagusz as its new chief executive.

Jagusz, who joins from his previous post as managing director of SSE Telecoms, will assume his new role "after the summer break", according to a press release issued this week by the integrator. Chairman Steve Andrews will continue to serve as interim leader, a role he took on following the recent departure of former boss Vim Vithaldas.

"We are thrilled that Chris is joining us to lead the next phase of our growth and development," said Andrews. "He has a track record of delivering growth and commands enormous respect within the industry. We look forward to working together to bring more success to Azzurri Communications."

The new appointment arrives with a wealth of experience at different telecoms players. He began a seven-year stint at BT in 1999, since which he has worked in a mixture of permanent and interim leadership role for Eurotel, BNS, Vialtus Solutions, Highfield House Networks, Daisy, Six Degrees Group, XLN Telecom and Sun Hill Advisory. He spent two years as boss of SSE.

"I am looking forward to joining Azzurri - it has an excellent proposition, an enviable customer base and some world-class people," said Jagusz. "In my current role I work with Azzurri as both a supplier and a customer, and I know the business is very well positioned to compete in the changing communications marketplace."
