Auriga beats bigger boys to DWP deal
Security and IT consultancy wins two-year deal to provide Security Assurance Accreditation service
IT consultancy firm Auriga has nabbed a two-year contract to supply the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) with the Security Assurance Services Accreditation service.
The deal was won after a gruelling tender process, with Auriga knocking out heavyweight competition to win the business.
Under the deal, the firm will provide a fully outsourced accreditation service on behalf of the ministerial department which services about 20 million customers, along with secure business process modelling services to help achieve accreditation in line with CESG and Cabinet Office guidelines.
A DWP representative said in a statement: "DWP are pleased to award the DWP Security Assurance Accreditation Service to Auriga Consulting and look forward to working collaboratively to successfully deliver this service over the next two years.”
Louise Dunne, managing director of Auriga, said: “As an SME organisation we came up against some stiff competition for the procurement of the Security Assurance Service (SAS) Accreditation contract. But our unique approach – combining agility, business process modeling and information security accreditation to deliver real operational benefits – enabled us to stand out from the crowd.
“This, and a proven track record in delivering large-scale accreditation projects with excellent customer service, really went in our favour. We’re delighted to be awarded the contract.”
