Getac marks ASM partnership with £800k tablet deal
Ruggedised-PC maker looks to break into the utilities market
Ruggedised-PC maker Getac has marked its new partnership with distie ASM by winning an £800,000 deal with a leading energy firm.
ASM will have access to Getac's full range of hard-wearing technology – including laptops, tablets and handheld computers – as part of the new partnership.
Getac already sells its wares through both a direct sales model and a handful of resellers to businesses in the manufacturing, law enforcement, emergency services and military segments, but hopes ASM will extend its reach into new customers – particularly in the utilities market.
Getac has already won through ASM what it claims are a number of sizeable contracts across a range of customers, including an £800,000 deal to supply one of the UK's largest energy companies with its tech.
Getac's president Peter Molyneux was pleased with the duo's early success.
"Since partnering with ASM we have already been able to complete significant transactions with major enterprises and public sector organisations that would have previously been challenging to fulfil," he said.
"ASM's unique approach to agile distribution was critical for building the enterprise channel that we needed. We required a partner that had accreditation to supply and a strong working relationship with the major enterprise customers in the UK."
