Square becomes latest piece of Jigsaw24's puzzle
Apple resellers team up to create £80m firm
Jigsaw24 has acquired fellow Apple reseller Square Group in a move that will see the duo's combined revenue surpass the £80m mark.
Nottingham-based Jigsaw, which also has operations in Manchester, bought the B2B subsidiary and majority part of London-based Square Group for an undisclosed sum. The latter's 85 staff will move over to Jigsaw.
As part of the merger, the pair will open a flagship customer experience and service centre in Soho, London, this September as it looks to better serve the media and entertainment industry – a sector on which both strongly focus.
Jigsaw and Square – two of the largest Apple resellers in the UK – claim the merger will form an entity with "significant opportunity" for further expansion.
The acquisition comes just a year after Jigsaw24 received investment from private equity firm NorthEdge Capital.
Jigsaw's chief executive Martin Balaam (pictured, with Square Group boss Roger Whittle, left) said: "We are very excited to be joining forces with Square and opening the new facilities in Soho, further strengthening our position in our core markets.
"Jigsaw24 has witnessed strong growth recently and these important investments alongside the support given by NorthEdge will serve to accelerate our plans for the future."
