Dow made the mane man for Azlan's £300m HP empire

Violin's Gary Lloyd also joins Tech Data's UK enterprise team as part of reshuffle

Tech Data has handed the tiller of its £300m UK HP enterprise business to Andy Dow as part of a management rejig.

As reported by CRN, TDAzlan's current HP boss, Lee Driscoll, is heading for the exit doors, with the distributor's Cisco boss, Mark Wheeler, also known to be moving on.

Tech Data has reshuffled its top management deck to fill these two vacant posts, with Dow (pictured) assuming responsibility for the HP business alongside his existing role as group marketing director.

The distributor's Cisco business will now be led by Gary Lloyd, whom Tech Data has poached from vendor Violin Memory. Lloyd will also look after Azlan's EMC business in the newly created role of director Cisco & EMC.

In his new post, Dow will head a team of about 75 staff spread across two offices in Basingstoke and Birmingham. As well as working for Dell, Dow spent nine years at HP in his early career. He has been at Tech Data for six years.

"I am really excited being back in the middle of the HP world and to be hands on with one of our largest and most strategic businesses," Dow told CRN.

"I am looking forward to getting stuck in and working with our customer base."

Gareth Hansford, managing director of TDAzlan UK, said in a statement: "It is fantastic to have someone with Andy's background and level of Tech Data experience join the Azlan team, and to welcome Gary, who will bring a huge amount of relevant vendor experience to this new role. I look forward to working closely with both of them as we take our Azlan business forward."
