Peach eyes juicy growth with Nexus buyout
Telecoms firm hopes managed services buy will be fruitful
Peach Telecom has branched out into managed services after snapping up Nexus Business Group.
Whiteley-based Peach specialises in providing landlines, mobile technology, broadband and data services to UK businesses and also has a north-west base in Leyland, near Preston. The firm completed the deal for the Southampton firm for an undisclosed sum today and said the move will substantially benefit its 3,000-strong customer base.
The merger will see services firm Nexus' former managing director Gareth McQuaid become IT director at Peach.
"Our customers are pleased with the move as they will be able to take advantage of Peach's end-to-end portfolio," he said.
Peach said the acquisition – which is its fourth – will underpin its key goal to become a technology partner of choice to UK businesses and said its future growth will come from more buys as well as organically.
Peach's chief executive Darren Scott-Healey said: "With the convergence of telecommunications and IT, the acquisition has come at a perfect time. We are thrilled to welcome Nexus customers to the Peach family and to be able to offer a more comprehensive range of solutions to current and potential customers."
