Kaatz to get Insight's sales engine purring

New EMEA sales and marketing boss for global reseller behemoth

Reseller giant Insight has enlisted former Microsoft bigwig Alexander Kaatz as its vice president of sales and marketing in EMEA, where sales have been flat in recent quarters

Kaatz, who will report into EMEA president Wolfgang Ebermann, has a track record of "leading change across multiational divisions and "bringing new business models to market," Insight said.

NASDAQ-listed Insight posted EMEA sales of $1.47bn last year, flat on 2012, with local sales in the first quarter of 2014 also failing to grow.

Ebermann said: "I am excited to have a very senior leader with a great track record in sales & marketing and deep expertise in successfully driving business transformation joining our EMEA business.

"[Kaatz's] leadership will be instrumental in executing against our 'trusted advisor' mission and growing our business across EMEA."

Kaatz spent 12 years at Microsoft in various senior sales and marketing positions and has also worked for the likes of BMW, Shell and Siemens.
